Avaya IP Office Voicemail Pro: Features Most Businesses Never Turn On

Voicemail Pro is one of the most capable pieces of the Avaya IP Office platform — and in most installations we take over, it's running at about ten percent of what the license already paid for. If your IP Office “just does voicemail,” here's what's sitting idle.

Voicemail-to-email

The single highest-impact switch: messages delivered to email as audio attachments (with copy or forward-and-delete modes). Missed messages stop being a thing, and voicemails become forwardable, archivable records.

Custom call flows

Voicemail Pro is really a call-flow engine. Menus within menus, dial-by-name, announcements, conditional branches — “if it's after 5pm and the caller pressed 2, ring the on-call cell, then fall back to voicemail with an urgent flag.” If you can whiteboard it, it can usually be built.

Time- and date-based routing

Open, closed, lunch, weekends, and a holiday calendar programmed once a year. Night service stops depending on whether someone remembered the button.

Outcalling and callback

New voicemail in a critical mailbox can trigger a call to a cell phone until someone acknowledges it — effectively a free paging system for on-call staff.

Campaigns and structured messages

Collect structured information from callers (name, account number, callback window) as recorded prompts they answer one by one — tidy for order lines, service requests, and after-hours intake.

Conference and announcement tools

Meet-me conference bridges, queue announcements with position, and recorded marketing-on-hold that you can update yourself.

The catch

None of this configures itself, and much of it was skipped on install day years ago. The good news: it's programming, not hardware — and we do it remotely.
